Fans that have been concerned about the situation involving NWA-TNA and Ring of Honor may well be advised to keep the e-mail addresses for TNA and Fox Sports handy.
For the first time that anyone has claimed this to be the case, Bob Ryder (co-owner of 1wrestling and Director of Administration and Talent Relations for NWA-TNA) is apparently stating that the Rob Feinstein sex scandal in as a reason TNA was trying to ask workers to "keep their distance". Coincidence or not, this item on his 1wrestling.com website is the first time that the site has reported on the NWA TNA-ROH situation, while many other websites have been talking about it for since the story was broken 2 weeks ago by PWinsider.com's Mike Johnson.
NWA-TNA staff and Ring of Honor booker Gabe Sapolsky are meeting today in Nashville to resolve the situation. Mike Johnson has reported today on PWInsider.com that Ring of Honor fans are additionally preparing lists of FOX Sports advertisers to approach with an e-mail campaign if this situation is not resolved satifactorily with today's meetings.
The meeting today was produced by a fan e-mail campaign, immediately after the Johnson report, in which many wrestling fans expressed their concern about this potential drain of talent by contacting NWA-TNA, and 1wrestling.com owner/NWA-TNA Director of Administration and Talent Relations Bob Ryder to threaten a boycott of NWA-TNA PPV events if the company continued their attempts to get TNA talent to stop working for Ring of Honor. Fans also let NWA-TNA know that they would be contacting Fox Sports to express their displeasure and did so.
The e-mails to Fox Sports have been said by several sources to have particularly motivated TNA officials to contact Gabe Sapolsky as there was a preception by NWA-TNA that the emails could "cripple their chances at the deal with Fox Sports".
Stay tuned for updates on this situation.
