The Special Enforcer....STING!
TNA started off this week with the first match in the NWA World Tag Team Title Tournament, as the returning Low Ki and Fallen Angel surprised the world as the Mystery Team. Ki and Daniels managed to advance in the tournament by beating The New Franchise when Traci’s interference backfired on her team. Following the match, Shane Douglas had to restrain both Michael and Traci from a physical altercation!
In another Tag Team Title Tournament match, the returning team of Slash and Sinn managed to beat Glenn Gilberti and David Young to advance!
Despite being suspended for the week without pay by NWA Director of Authority Vince Russo, Raven showed up and once again demanded a title shot against Jeff Jarrett! After once again being denied by Russo, Raven told the boss he “was playing a dangerous game”.
The juggernaut newcomer Monty Brown vs. Don Harris match never took place, as the former New England Patriot mauled Harris before the bout got underway. After annihilating Harris, Brown called for more competition – and got it in the form of Sabu! However, Brown chose to fight Sabu another day and quickly got out of harm’s way.
Up next, Armando Quintero and Americas X Cup champions Team AAA from Mexico were interviewed about their upcoming April 7 defense against Team United Kingdom!
Another NWA tag Team Title Tournament match was up next as Kid Kash and a monstrous family member later revealed as “Dallas” beat Simon Diamond and Sonny Siaki to advance.
Later, The Naturals finished up the tournament matches for the night as they downed 3Live Kru members Konnan and BG James after throwing powder in K-Dawg’s eyes!
Up next was the moment everyone was waiting for as Mike Tenay introduced the one and only Sting to the crowd! In addition to talking about the heritage of the NWA World Heavyweight Title, Sting spoke about a movie currently being filmed in Nashville about his life! Later on, Mike Tenay and Don West announced that Sting would return this Wednesday, March 31 to TNA to serve as “Special Enforcer” in the Final Four Way Match between Styles, Abyss, Raven and Ron Killings!
In a match to determine who would go on to face “Wildcat” Chris Harris on March 31 in the “Road To The Cage,” Abyss took on Ron “The Truth” Killings! After a wild and crazy brawl, Killings seemingly had Abyss beat when Raven once again interfered! It wasn’t long before AJ Styles hit the ring and evened the odds! Referee Rudy Charles threw out the match as all hell broke loose! As the Blackshirt Security restored order, Killings got the on microphone and demanded the four way next week against Abyss, Raven and AJ!
In the main event of the evening, the number one contender status to Chris Sabin’s X Championship would be determined as six of the top TNA X division superstars battled it out in an elimination style match! In the end, the returning Amazing Red was able to finally eliminate Frankie “The Future” Kazarian to fall in line for a shot at the X gold!
