Yet one more promotion is attempting to keep its talent from working for another promotion...and this time it's not the usual fight between indy promotions operating in the same geographical area.
Mike Johnson of Pwinsider.com reported earlier last week here that NWA-TNA is continuing to attempt to get its their contracted performers to stop accept bookings from Ring of Honor, a situation he had initially reported on the previous week.
AJ Styles was asked initially to stop accepting bookings with ROH and refused. Johnson stated that multiple sources confirmed that company officials sat down with Christopher Daniels and AJ Styles last week's PPV in Nashville, TN to "discuss the situation". Johnson further stated that other workers were contacted and were requested not to take bookings with Ring Of Honor, including Chris Sabin.
The issue in question apparently has nothing whatever to do with the Rob Feinstein sex scandal earlier this month. The issue, as reported by Johnson, is that executives from FOX Sports (which NWA-TNA is negotiating with for a TV deal) view there as being a brand confusion, somehow viewing TNA contracted wrestlers appearing on ROH shows as giving an appearance that the companies were affiliated.
The situation is still fluid at the moment, but wrestling fans should express their feelings on the subject.
One way wrestling fans can express their concern about this is to use the various feedback options offered by NWA-TNA, so as to let them know that Ring Of Honor and other wrestling fans wouldn't take kindly to talent like AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels being pulled from Ring of Honor shows.
